Frequently Asked Questions
I’m an agent, but I don’t use Tagmin - will Spotlight be building these tools for agents like me too?
Spotlight and the tools within it are always evolving - and we are working on new functionality for all agents within Spotlight regardless of whether they use Tagmin or not. However, Tagmin is our dedicated agency solution. Agents using Tagmin have enjoyed numerous integrations with Spotlight over the past ten years that reduce their admin and save them time. The Tagmin system offers a huge amount of value and we believe it is fair to charge for these tools. We also believe it’s the best way to enable us to keep developing the Tagmin system - and offer even greater value.
Who will be able to see the availability data on Spotlight?
It’s important that this feed is only available to those agents who have access to your agency on Spotlight. It’s designed to respect your role as an agent - so no casting directors can see this availability - it’s for your agency's eyes only. The basic premise is, if you can see the availability data in Tagmin, you will be able to see it on Spotlight.
Can Spotlight just highlight the dates that clash with the project in question?
Casting Directors often add date information as free text on a breakdown, which means you can’t filter by these dates or highlight them in this context. Availability is rarely black and white and it’s an important element of an agent's role to interpret availability on a case by case basis - the human element is important - and ensures both the agent and the talent they represent are not disenfranchised.
What availability data will display in my Spotlight account?
Meetings, pencils, offers and jobs, as well as personal non-available dates such as holidays. The colours agents associate with different event types on Tagmin will also be displayed, as we want you to be able to read and interpret the data quickly, using a design and layout that you recognise. It’s worth noting that there is a preference in Tagmin to only let agents see clients assigned to them, however in Spotlight the same agency may be set up to show agents all clients. If you're working in Spotlight, it is your Spotlight agency settings that dictate who sees what. If you wish to restrict agents to the availability feeds of only those clients assigned to them, you will need to ensure your Spotlight agency settings reflect the choices you've made in Tagmin.
Will the availability data on Spotlight be a mirror of the availability data in Tagmin?
It will look and feel the same - although not all bookings will be shown on Spotlight. We hide availability checks and self-tapes as they don’t directly affect an actor's availability. It will also be limited to the next 12 months only, to ensure there is not too much data loading in a small space.
Some of my clients have two agents on Spotlight/Tagmin, how will this work for me?
Each agent will only be able to see the availability data they can already see in Tagmin. We know availability means different things for a voice agent to say, a theatrical agent, so each agent's availability feed is separate and private.
What happens if my client leaves my agency, will their availability still display in Spotlight?
Availability will stop showing when your client is no longer represented by your agency on Spotlight.
Is the availability feed updated in real time?
More or less, yes. Shortly after a booking or event is added, or edited, Tagmin updates your Spotlight account.
Can I stop my data feeding through to my Spotlight account altogether?
Yes. Agents can hide this functionality on Spotlight anytime, by simply going to their Preferences in Tagmin and selecting the Spotlight tab.
