Self-tape requests can now be sent directly through Spotlight for submissions you have made on behalf of your clients.
We have put together this helpful video to help you along your way:
We have broken the steps down below for further assistance but if this does not answer your question, please contact our team by emailing agents@tagmin.com.
If you have received a self-tape request, you will receive an email with a unique link to open the request on Spotlight. From there, you will be able to open the request on Tagmin by selecting OPEN IN TAGMIN:
Once the page has opened in Tagmin, you will see a dedicated Spotlight Requests tab at the top of the page. The tab will remain greyed out until you receive a self-tape request. Once a self-tape request has been received, the tab will no longer appear greyed out and will show a number to indicate how many self-tape requests are waiting for you:
Clicking into the tab will open up your Bookings page where you will be able to see the tape request delivered directly from Spotlight with all the information pre-filled to save you time.
You will also see instructions at the top of the page requesting you to check and edit the booking as needed, when the request was received and when the tape needs to be submitted by. You can also open the original tape request or breakdown on Spotlight by clicking the MEDIA REQUEST or BREAKDOWN options below.
If you would like to review and approve the tape before it is submitted, you may want to request that the tape is submitted slightly earlier to allow for this by changing the SUBMIT BY date and time:
Alternatively, you can also choose to skip a tape approval by changing the settings in this new section SKIP TAPE APPROVALS which may be good for requests with a tight deadline or where you simply want your client to upload the tape directly to the casting director:
If you email the request directly to your client, all the files will automatically be attached.
Once the request has been sent to your client, the status of the self-tape request will also update from the red speech bubble icon, to the orange egg timer icon:
Whilst Spotlight has built a system for agents to respond to tape requests, the Tagmin system fully integrates with this. Once your client has responded to the tape request, you can click on the status icon to accept or decline a tape request. As an agent, you can choose to update the status on either platform which will automatically update on both saving you from having to update the status on two different platforms.
If you don’t use TagTapes, you can collect the tapes from your clients manually and upload them directly onto Spotlight by clicking the SUBMIT SELF-TAPE option on the tape request or you can forward the request to your client to upload directly to the casting director without approval:
If you do use TagTapes, agents can submit tapes directly to the casting director from your Tagmin account after the tape has been reviewed and approved. You can also edit the order of scenes, hide clips and rename them as you wish. To submit the tapes you have received from your client/s, you can simply drag and drop the tape thumbnails into the TAPES TO SUBMIT area.
Please note: if a casting director has requested a certain amount of tapes, you can upload less but you will not be able to upload more tapes than was requested:
Once you are ready to submit the tape, simply click the AGREE & SUBMIT TO SPOTLIGHT option:
Once submitted, the status of the request will update too:
To view the submission on Spotlight, you can select the SUBMITTED TO CASTING DIRECTOR option on Tagmin which will open the request within your Spotlight account:
All TagTapes are stored in your Tagmin account and you can use the live streaming link on the STREAMING PAGE to share outside of Spotlight. For instance, if you have missed the deadline and the casting director has requested you send them the tape via email.
Our new Self-Tape feature is currently in a Beta phase meaning we are in a testing period where casting directors will be sending live self-tape requests for real productions to allow us to test functionality of the feature in real time. Changes may be made following on from the feedback we receive during testing, and while we develop the feature further. If you have any feedback, we would love to hear from you! You can submit your suggestions directly through our feedback form.
